همراه یا همرزمی که در فعالیتها یا سازمانی مشترک است، بهویژه در گروههای سیاسی یا نظامی.
A companion who shares one's activities or is a fellow member of an organization, especially a political or military group.

تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. در زمینههای اجتماعی عمومی قابل جایگزینی است ولی companion کمتر سیاسی یا نظامی است، مثلاً travel companion بهتر است.
Common. Interchangeable in general social contexts but 'companion' is less political or military specific, e.g. 'travel companion' suits better.
رسمی. معمولاً در زمینههای سیاسی یا نظامی به معنی شریک حمایتی است، ولی نزدیکی روزمره شخصی مانند comrade ندارد.
Formal. Often used in political or military contexts to mean a supportive partner, but does not imply the same daily personal closeness as 'comrade'.
