تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. به درخت کوچک جوان اشاره دارد که معمولا از نهال بزرگتر است. وقتی بخواهیم روی گیاه جوان تاکید کنیم هر دو قابل جایگزینیاند اما sapling معمولا درخت کوچک است و نه بذری تازه جوانه زده. مثلا 'saplings in the forest' و 'seedlings in the nursery'.
Common. Refers to a young tree, usually larger than a seedling. Interchangeable when emphasizing young plants but sapling usually implies a small tree, not very young seed stage. Example: 'saplings in the forest' vs 'seedlings in the nursery'.
