تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. وقتی به مواد مضر اشاره میشود به جای toxic به کار میرود. بیشتر برای موجودات زنده مثل گیاهان یا حیوانات استفاده میشود، مثلاً «مار سمی».
Common. Interchangeable with 'toxic' when referring to substances harmful if ingested or touched. Use 'poisonous' more for living organisms like plants or animals, e.g. 'poisonous snake'.
رسمی/علمی. مشخصا به حیواناتی گفته میشود که از طریق نیش زهر وارد میکنند. در متنهای عمومی به جای toxic نیست.
Formal/scientific. Specifically refers to animals that inject venom via bites or stings. Not interchangeable with 'toxic' in general contexts.
