تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی. در مواقع مؤدبانه یا ادبی به جای cad که برجستهکردن بدکاری اخلاقی است استفاده میشود.
Formal. Can replace 'cad' in polite or literary contexts when emphasizing moral badness. E.g., 'He's a scoundrel for lying to her.' works well; 'He is a scoundrel for running fast.' does not.
غیررسمی. اغلب شوخی یا محبتآمیز است. در مواردی که شخصی قابل اعتماد نیست جایگزین است اما شدت منفی کمتر.
Informal. Often used humorously or affectionately as well. Can replace 'cad' when meaning someone dishonest or untrustworthy, but not always with the same negative weight. E.g., 'He's a rogue for cheating.' works; 'He's a rogue for being late.' doesn't.
