تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. بیشتر بر روی مفید بودن و سازگاری تمرکز دارد. میتوان به جای یکدیگر استفاده کرد وقتی کسی مشتاق کمک است.
Common. More focused on being helpful and accommodating. Can be used interchangeably when someone is eager to assist. 'An obliging shop assistant' works, 'a complaisant shop assistant' is also fine but less common.
رسمی. به راحتی متقاعد یا کنترل میشود؛ مایل به پیروی. بر تمایل به هدایت شدن تأکید دارد.
Formal. Easily persuaded or controlled; willing to comply. Emphasizes willingness to be guided. 'Amenable to suggestion' works, 'complaisant to suggestion' is less idiomatic.
