تفاوت با واژههای مشابه

Formal/Religious. To make holy; set apart as sacred. Very close in meaning and often interchangeable with 'consecrate' in religious contexts. 'The priest sanctified the water' works. 'Sanctifying a building' is less common than 'consecrating a building' for formal dedication.
