تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
کلمهی رایج روزمره. وقتی درباره شادی صحبت میشود جایگزین merry است اما merry معمولاً در مراسم یا جمعهای شاد بکار میرود. جملهی «او شاد است» کلیتر است؛ «مهمانی شاد» خاصتر است.
Common everyday word. Interchangeable with 'merry' when describing joy but 'merry' is often used in festive or social settings. 'She is happy' is more general; 'a merry party' is more specific.
رسمی یا ادبی. در زمینه بیان شادی شدید و جشنانگیز با merry مترادف است. کمتر در صحبتهای روزمره استفاده میشود.
