تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
روزمره. اصطلاحی عمومی برای دورهای که چیزی به تعویق میافتد یا کند میشود. «نهفتگی» اغلب یک اصطلاح فنیتر است که به زمان قابل اندازهگیری برای یک سیگنال یا فرآیند اشاره دارد، در حالی که «تاخیر» میتواند غیررسمیتر و کمتر دقیق باشد. «تأخیری در پرواز وجود داشت.» همیشه قابل جایگزینی نیست؛ «نهفتگی» به ویژگی ذاتی سیستم اشاره دارد.
Everyday. A general term for a period of time when something is postponed or slowed. 'Latency' is often a more technical term referring to the measurable time taken for a signal or process, whereas 'delay' can be more informal and less precise. 'There was a delay in the flight.' Not always interchangeable; 'latency' implies an inherent system characteristic.
رسمی/فنی. به حالت عدم فعالیت موقت یا توقف رشد اشاره دارد، به ویژه در بافتهای بیولوژیکی. «دانهها تا بهار در حالت خفتگی باقی ماندند.» کمتر برای سیستمهای فنی و بیشتر برای فرآیندهای طبیعی کاربرد دارد.
Formal/Technical. Refers to a state of temporary inactivity or suspension of development, especially in biological contexts. 'The seeds remained in dormancy until spring.' Less applicable to technical systems, more to natural processes.
