رسمی. وانمود کردن به داشتن یک حس، حالت یا آسیب خاص. اغلب به معنای عملی عمدی و گاهی فریبکارانه است.
Formal. To pretend to have a particular feeling, state, or injury. It often implies a deliberate and sometimes deceptive act. 'He feigned illness to avoid work' works, 'He feigned to be a superhero' sounds less natural than 'pretend'.
رسمی/فنی. تقلید ظاهر یا ویژگی چیزی. اغلب در بافت فنی (مثلاً کامپیوترها) یا زمانی که تقلید بسیار دقیق است، استفاده میشود.
Formal/Technical. To imitate the appearance or character of something. Often used in a technical context (e.g., computers) or when the imitation is very precise. 'Simulate battle conditions' works, 'Simulate to be a doctor' does not.

Everyday. Describes something that is not genuine, often intended to deceive. Can replace 'pretend' when emphasizing artificiality. 'A fake smile' works, but 'a pretend smile' is also common.

Everyday. Existing only in the imagination; not real. Interchangeable with 'pretend' when referring to things that children create in their minds. 'Imaginary friends' works, 'pretend friends' also works, but 'imaginary' highlights the mental creation.
