تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی. عمدتاً برای اشتباه در تفسیر معنی یا قصد به جای misunderstanding به کار میرود، مانند «او منظورش را بدتفسیر کرد». برای نفهمیدن ساده کلمات مناسب نیست.
Formal. Can replace 'misunderstand' mostly in contexts involving incorrect interpretation of meaning or intentions, e.g., 'She misinterpreted his gesture.' Not used for simple failure to understand words.
روزمره. گاهی جایگزین misunderstanding برای مواقعی که ایدهها اشتباه گرفته شده، ولی confuse بر سردرگمی ذهنی تاکید دارد. مثلاً «من دستورها را گیج شدم» صحیح نیست ولی «نفهمیدم دستورها را» دقیقتر است.
Common. Sometimes interchangeable when misunderstanding involves mixing up ideas, but 'confuse' emphasizes mental disorientation rather than incorrect interpretation. For example, 'I confused the instructions' works but 'I misunderstood the instructions' is more precise.
