تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رسمی. وقتی به بخشهایی از شیء شکسته اشاره دارد قابل جایگزینی با shard است اما shard معمولاً بر تیزی تاکید دارد و بیشتر به شیشه یا سفال اشاره دارد—مثلاً «a shard of glass» بجای «a fragment of glass».
